The School Enterprise Challenge is a free educational programme that teaches business and life skills.
It supports teachers and students to plan and set up real businesses at their school.
From coming up with your own business idea to writing a business plan and actually launching your school business, we’ll support you the whole way!
COVID 19 update: The School Enterprise Challenge 2021 can be adapted to any context, whether you will be teaching online or in-person. Whatever your situation, we will support you to keep your students engaged and empower them through practical learning.
Participants can submit any completed template (Business Idea, Business Plan or Annual Report) at any of the following submission dates:
All submissions received by Sunday 21st November 2021 will be reviewed in early 2022 to determine eligibility for Award Level Certificates and prizes.
After the final deadline of 21st November 2021 has passed, all entries from participants (Business Ideas, Business Plans and Annual Reports) will be sent to an external panel of expert judges. Each submission will be assessed against the official Achievement Criteria. The entries which score the most ‘Exceptional’ sections according to the Achievement Criteria will be considered for prizes.
In the interest of fairness, the Achievement Criteria is set at the start of each year and remains fixed for the duration of that year. All participants have access to the Achievement Criteria from the moment they register to take part. You can access the Achievement Criteria for the 2021 programme here.
The full list of prize winners for the 2021 programme will be announced in February/March 2022.
Please note that, as per the Terms and Conditions of the programme, the decision made by the panel of expert judges is final and cannot be contested.
The School Enterprise Challenge programme is made up of 3 Award Levels: Bronze – Silver – Gold
All new business teams start on the Bronze Level. Once they have achieved that they can progress to the Silver Level and then once they have achieved that onto the Gold Level.
It usually takes one academic (school) year to achieve each Award Level. However, due to COVID restrictions being experienced by many schools it may take longer. All teams that meet the requirement for their level will receive an official Certificate of Achievements (for the school as well as for the students and teachers involved).
Opt-out at any time. No strings attached.
