In addition to being coached by elite mentors during the bootcamp, the top 3 winning teams will be awarded with a dedicated 3 month long mentorship program after the bootcamp, monetary prizes and an opportunity to pitch to Atos Accelerator programme.

The teams or individuals who submitted the 8 best solutions will be invited to a two-week virtual Bootcamp. If you are among them, you will benefit from the following concrete support during the Bootcamp and beyond:

  • Technical assistance towards solution deployment: receive concrete support targeting the components needed for your solution to succeed such as marketing, fundraising, agile methods, accessibility, pitching, scaling and business development.
  • Receive access to global international experts and guidance by mentors in the fields of digital start-up support, disability and tech, as well as education.
  • Receive access to our international network of development and international cooperation, as well as innovation ecosystems and partner networks across universities, organizations of persons with disabilities, funders, Assistive Technology experts, disability experts, corporations and NGOs
  • As a winning team you will furthermore receive a cash prize to boost the advancement of your solution.


  • Individuals or Teams of Innovators, Entrepreneurs, Students, Change makers, Tech geeks, Disability activists.
  • Persons ageing at least 18 years old or above the legal working age in the country of residence.
  • Permanent residents of an African country or non-residents teaming up with an African organization.
  • Please note that Atos or GIZ employees (and their immediate family) are not eligible to take part in the challenge. Any solutions that are already on the market will also be excluded.

About the ICT 4 Inclusion Challenge Africa Edition for Inclusive Education in Africa 2021

Atos and GIZ kick-start their cooperation by setting up this joint innovation challenge.

The goal is to support digital innovations aimed at improving access to education for persons with disabilities in Africa.

To this end, both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Global Accessibility Awareness Day.

Submit your innovative idea, mock-up or proof of concept.

  • Selection

16 – 30 Sep 2021

ICT, Education, Inclusion & Africa experts will evaluate the submissions. 8 teams will be invited to the bootcamp.

  • Virtual bootcamp

25 Oct – 5 Nov 2021

Work on your idea alongside selected elite mentors and prepare for pitching your developed PoC to the jury.

  • Pitching

30 Nov 2021

Present the proof of concept of your innovative solution to a panel of top-notch jury members.

  • Awards

3 Dec 2021

Awards to the winning teams will be presented during a public live event.

  • Mentoring

Post event

Winning teams will receive tailored 3-month mentoring & the opportunity to pitch to Atos Accelerator program.

  • Day 1: Learn to deliver a unique customer value, master a convincing pitch and define a striking business plan
  • Day 2: Shape a winning team and secure funding for growth
  • Day 3:Individual coaching sessions, followed by presentation to an African – Swiss jury and selection of eight candidates for a 4-days action packed entrepreneurial development week in Switzerland.
