  • First prize is N5 million naira/Equivalent in winners’ country currency

  • The top 100 applicants will receive a 12 weeks mini MBA training from the International Finance Corporation. 


Women aged 18-45yrs old who are; 

  • Resident in Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, Zambia, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Gambia, DR Congo & Kenya, South Africa.
  • Own and manage their own business in the above countries 
  • With businesses registered with their country’s corporate affairs registration bodies 

joint businesses can apply if:

  • a woman owns at least 50% of the business 
  • manages the business iii. if selected, she will attend the mini MBA series 
  • If the business is jointly owned by women, one of the women will attend the mini MBA.

Who cannot apply? 

  • Not for profit organizations/NGOs 
  • Employees, contractors, officers, directors or agent of any of the following: Access Bank Plc, or any parent, subsidiary, affiliated or related entity 
  • Any person or entity involved in the development, production, distribution, or other exploitation of the Programme.
  • Any known major sponsor of the Programme or its advertising agency.
  •  Any person or entity supplying services or prizes to the Programme.
  • Any public office holder.

Application Instructions

  • Stage 1: Complete the online application by; 
  • Fill out your personal and business details correctly 
  • Provide a brief description of your business. 
  • Complete all questions and submit. (Successful applicants will be contacted via email) 
  • Stage 2: Your business in 60 seconds 
  • Create a 60-second video with clear audio about your business using a video camera or a quality phone. 
  • Click the upload button afterwards to upload your pitch video. The video should not be more than 50MB in size. 
  • Stage 3: Top 100 entries will be contacted via email to proceed with the mini MBA from the International Finance Corporation.

About the Swiss Africa Business and Innovation Initiative

Launched in 2019, the Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton Africa was the first women-in-business support initiative of its kind in the industry offered by the Access Bank W Initiative. The program in its maiden edition provided financial grants worth N9Million to the top 5 applicants with a free mini MBA certification for 50 women entrepreneurs in Nigeria. This it did in conjunction with the International Finance Corporation (IFC, a member of the World Bank Group). This year, the program is being extended to 9 other African countries where Access Bank’s W initiative has its presence. These countries are Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, Zambia, Sierra-Leone, Gambia, Kenya, Mozambique, South Africa and Congo hence the tag name “Womenpreneur Pitch-A-Ton Africa.

Key Dates and Order of Program

  • Application starts on the 21st of June and ends on the 13th of August 2021. 

All online applications will be reviewed and screened by independent business experts to five hundred (500) candidates who will be required to send in a sixty-second video pitch for the opportunity to be selected as part of the final top 100 candidates who will benefit from an exclusive and certified Mini-MBA and grant prizes.

 “The programme is designed as a 3-month period comprising 12 weeks of mini-MBA training in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and pitching sessions to a Pan-African Jury panel where the top one hundred (100) finalists will pitch their businesses, infusing learnings from the mini-MBA and will stand an opportunity to win financial grants and other consolation prizes.”
